Vila Zelina is a neighborhood located in São Paulo, Brazil, where a great number of Lithuanians have been living since the early twentieth century. In fact, Vila Zelina has one of the greatest colonies outside Lithuania and is the sole neighborhood in the city to perform masses in Lithuanian at São José Church, founded by the Lithuanian community back in 1936.

Click here to see photos of local Lithuanians published recently in a Brazilian daily newspaper “Folha de S.Paulo”. You will see why Vila Zelian is known as the center of Lithuanian life in Brazil.
