European forums

A recent steady growth of Lithuanian communities all around the world has particularly been witnessed in Europe. In some places – the UK, Sweden and Germany - new emigrants reunite with the old Lithuanian exile communities, and in some other places, like in Ireland, Belgium, Austria, Finland and Spain – new Lithuanian diaspora communities emerge.
Probably the most popular current destination for Lithuanian emigrants. UK hosts the second largest Lithuanian community in the world, and the largest in Europe.

North American forums

The United States and Canada were the major focus of Lithuanian political and economic migration after 1850 and up until the fall of the Iron Curtain. Besides, many North American Jews trace their ancestry to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and are known as Litvaks. Join the discussion!

Latin American & Caribbean forums

There has been political and economic migration of Lithuanians to Latin America since the mid-19th century. The largest number went to Brazil, followed by Argentina and Chile. After 1990, Latin America has became reachable for Lithuanians to travel and migrate again. And then there are some rich Lithuanians who spend the winter in the Caribbean. Why not? Share your experience with others here..

African forums

Lithuanians in Africa? You will be surprised, but small pockets of Lithuanians are found even on this continent. It's pity, though, that we have been unsuccessful yet to find any Lithuanians in Madagascar, a land where pre-war geographer, traveler and geopolitical specialist Kazys Pakštas wanted to move Lithuania in a search for a safer and warmer corner of the world.
And then there is South Africa. Did you know that around 90% of the approximately 80,000 Jews living in South Africa are of Lithuanian descent?
