Lithuania C.O.R.E. Project at Burning Man 2013 Featured

Read an intervew with Goku, the Burning Man Regional Contact for Lithuania and a member of the Lithuania C.O.R.E. group. The group's project “Birds” paid tribute to Darius and Girenas, the Lithuanian-Americans, who died in a plane crash in 1933 after completing 37 hours of a transatlantic flight.

"We see these two guys and their flight with the small orange airplane “Lituanica” not only as the iconic symbol well known in Lithuania (we even have them on our money bills), but also as a part of what we had experienced every time by coming and building Art in the desert – that everything is possible if you “got the fire” and belief is burning strong within yourself", Goku says in the intervew published at the website http://ignite.me.

Not familiar with Burning Man?

It is an extraordinary phenomenon that is difficult to describe in a few words.  For one week a year, tens of thousands of individualsgather in the remote Black Rock desert in Nevada and build a temporary city that revolves around art, love and freedom.  Communities of artists from all over the nation and the world create amazing interactive structures.
