Lithuanian 'Banksy' in Malaysia BrooklynStreetArt.com

27-year-old Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian-born Malaysian resident, is one of the quickest rising street art installation artists internationally.

In Malaysia, he has become known as “Malaysia’s Banksy.”

Ernest Zacharevic is known for his street art installations, where he combines his realistic painting with the use of 3D objects.

Focused on painting cheerful images, often showing children at play, his murals are very popular with by-passers that come across them.

His latest piece of work (bellow), which highlights the problem of crime, has been painted over by the Malaysian authorities - but not before being widely shared on social media.

The image rapidly became a hit on Facebook. "Pictures speak a thousand words of truth," reads one of the comments. Tens of thousands of people have "liked" or shared it.

You can read more about his work here.

A video bellow shows Ernest's installation on the wall in Georgetown, Malaysia, made last year. Hundreds of people started interacting with his piece of art moments after it was finished and the spot immidiately became a celebrated tourist destination.
