Two Lithuanians in Dakar Rally

665 competitors representing 53 nations will contest the 2015 Dakar Rally which will begin in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Sunday, January 4. Two Lithuanians, Antanas Junkevičius and Benediktas Vanagas,  will defend Lithuanian colors in the cars category. Junevicius will be driving “Mebar”,  Vanagas  - “Toyota”.

The recent Russian military aggression against Ukraine has caused substantial concern not only in the Baltic states, but in other EU and NATO countries as well. One source of concern comes not from traditional military threats as such, but instead from a much talked-about but less well-known phenomenon –Russian non-military influence and “soft power” in the Baltic states.

One in 30 Lithuanians are living in Britain

Britain is giving citizenship to more Lithuanian migrants than any other EU country, figures show.

Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and the question “Who is next?” have prompted many international media sources to look at the Baltics.

In a new edition of NATO Review Magazine, Lithuanian cartoonist Rytis Daukantas takes a sideways look at some of the main changes Lithuanians have seen since the end of the Cold War. And finds a freer country.
