Every week or so, LTUworld invites someone on the globe to be a #proud2bLithuanian: sole ruler of @proudLithuanian Twitter account.

For seven days or longer, someone will tweet why she or he is #proud2bLithuanian - perhaps because Lithuania is a free nation, or because it has world-class basketball, or perhaps because of our values: dedication, hard work, volunteerism, sacrifice.

For seven days or longer, he or she will be a global focal point for Lithuanians and those interested in the Lithuanian nation as well as in Lithuania itself.

After that, someone else does the same—but differently.

Last year a Lithuanian firefighter, Aidas Ardzijauskas, completed a 45 day run around the Baltic Sea through the territory of nine European countries, overcoming 1 865 miles. Now he is challenging human capabilities one more time – he is ready to run from Los Angeles to New York.

Harvey Milk, a man with roots in Lithuania, but virtually unknown there, will be commemorated in a forever stamp next month with a special dedication ceremony at the White House, the U.S. Postal Service announced on April 22.
