Lithuanian Days celebrated 100th anniversary

Hundreds of people came to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lithuanian Days at the Schuylkill Mall.
Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas during a formal visit in the United States of America last week found some time to visit small town of Scranton in Pensylvania to see his grandmother's hometown. Many Lithuanians settled in Northeast Pennsylvania more than a century ago among the wave of Europeans who came to America at the time. Among them was Olekas' ancestors. His grandmother, Adela Maciulaedas, was born in Scranton in 1904 after her parents had moved to the United States among the immigrants.
